RugbyWorks

Dallaglio RugbyWorks is a not-for-profit organisation working with young people aged between 12-18 who are experiencing school exclusion to help support them realise their full potential for the future. Using four cornerstones for our delivery: developing life skills, raising aspirations, improving physical wellbeing and focusing on mental wellbeing, they are able to use rugby as an engagement tool to build trusted adult relationships.

With young people in care being ten times more likely to experience school exclusion and just 4% of excluded pupils achieving at least 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (vs 64% in mainstream schools), RugbyWorks is now more vital than ever before.

Operating in seven regions, they provide opportunities for young people to be prepared for life after school, by providing employability opportunities such as a CV development and interview practice.

RugbyWorks also work with a variety of employers to provide ‘Career Taster Days’ - day trips to experience the workplace first hand helping to increase a young person’s likelihood of being in employment, education, or training post-18.

With more young people experiencing school exclusion, the Nick Maughan Foundation is proud to be supporting the vital work RugbyWorks does.

Nick Maughan, says:

Dallaglio RugbyWorks operates at the forefront of British youth work providing second chances and clear pathways to young people who have often been left behind by the system. It is a great honour for NMF to support the first-class work being done by Lawrence, Zenna and the team.”

Zenna Hopson, CEO of Dallaglio RugbyWorks says:

“We are so proud of the work we do but could not do this without support from generous people like Nick Maughan. We are so thankful to the Nick Maughan Foundation and Nick himself, who are playing a key part in raising the aspirations of our young people and supporting them on their future paths.”
